When I typed pip in the VSCode terminal, it ran a python file called threading.py that was in my project and threw an error.

I've tried reinstalling the extension, rebooting my computer, I replaced the requirements.txt with the one in the workaround for this issue: #7836 I can't interact with the pop-up buttons and it only lasts a couple of seconds (2-3). Actual behaviourĪ rectangular box with play, step, stop, pause buttons flashes in the middle of the screen and a faint blue progress bar under the run button moves left to right but otherwise, nothing happens. The program should run and I should see "Hello" in the terminal window output tab.

I'm not sure if the issue is with this extension, but it seems similar to other symptoms people have had with the debugger not working. When I click the run button in the debug console (above variables), a faint blue progress bar under the button runs left to right but otherwise, nothing happens. I'm trying to use the debugger with python files.
